Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Chennai
Arrive at Chennai International Airport, meet your representative and transfer to the hotel. Relax after your journey and enjoy free time in the city. Overnight stay in Chennai.
Day 2: Chennai City Tour
After breakfast, explore Chennai with visits to Fort St. George, St. Mary’s Church, St. Thomas Church, Marina Beach and Kapaleeswarar Temple. Evening free for own activities. Overnight stay in Chennai.
Day 3: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram
Drive to Kanchipuram to visit Ekambareswarar Temple and Kailasanathar Temple and see a silk weaving centre. Later continue to Mahabalipuram, check in to the beach resort and relax. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
Day 4: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing
Visit the Shore Temple, Five Rathas and Arjuna’s Penance, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Group of Monuments. Rest of the day at leisure on the beach. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
Day 5: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry
Drive to Pondicherry and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame des Anges and stroll through the French Quarter and markets, with an optional rickshaw ride. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
Day 6: Pondicherry – Gangaikondacholapuram – Darasuram – Thanjavur
After breakfast drive towards Thanjavur, visiting Gangaikondacholapuram Temple and Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram en route. Continue to Thanjavur and check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.
Day 7: Thanjavur Sightseeing
Visit Thanjavur Art Gallery, Saraswati Mahal Library and the UNESCO-listed Brihadeeswara (Big) Temple. Later see traditional bronze casting and Tanjore painting at an artisan village. Overnight stay in Thanjavur.
Day 8: Thanjavur – Trichy
Drive to Trichy and stop at Amma Mandapam on the banks of the Cauvery River to see Hindu rituals. Then visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam and climb Rockfort Uchchipillayar Temple for panoramic city views. Overnight stay in Trichy.
Day 9: Trichy – Chettinad
After breakfast drive to Chettinad. Enjoy a village walk to see grand Chettiar mansions and experience local culture. Overnight stay in Chettinad.
Day 10: Chettinad – Madurai
Drive to Madurai and check in. Visit Thirumalai Nayaka Palace and in the evening visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, including the evening ceremony inside the temple. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 11: Madurai – Periyar (Thekkady)
Drive through the hills to Periyar (Thekkady) on the Tamil Nadu–Kerala border. In the afternoon take a guided spice plantation tour to learn about cardamom, pepper, cloves, nutmeg and more, followed by an optional Kalaripayattu martial arts show. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Day 12: Periyar (Thekkady)
Enjoy a morning boat ride on Periyar Lake to spot wildlife along the forested shores. Optional activities include elephant ride, ayurvedic massage or soft trekking. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Day 13: Thekkady – Alleppey Houseboat
Drive to Alleppey and board a traditional houseboat for a backwater cruise on Vembanad Lake and its canals. Enjoy freshly cooked meals on board and a peaceful overnight stay on the houseboat.
Day 14: Alleppey – Kochi
Disembark after breakfast and drive to Kochi. In the afternoon visit St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica and see the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi, followed by an evening Kathakali dance show. Overnight stay in Kochi.
Day 15: Kochi Sightseeing
Visit Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) and the Jewish Synagogue, then take a short drive along Marine Drive. Free time for shopping or café hopping. Overnight stay in Kochi.
Day 16: Kochi – Ooty
Drive to Ooty, the “Queen of Hill Stations”, through scenic hills. On arrival visit the Botanical Garden and Rose Garden or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Ooty.
Day 17: Ooty
Full day at leisure in Ooty to relax, walk through tea estates or local markets, or take an optional toy train ride (subject to availability). Overnight stay in Ooty.
Day 18: Ooty – Mysore
Drive via Mudumalai and Bandipur wildlife reserves towards Mysore, with chances to spot deer and other animals en route. Continue to Mysore and check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Mysuru.
Day 19: Mysore Sightseeing
Visit Mysore Palace, then drive up Chamundi Hills to Chamundeshwari Temple. In the afternoon visit Srirangapatna to see its historic sites linked to Tipu Sultan. Overnight stay in Mysuru.
Day 20: Mysuru – Hassan
Drive to Hassan, stopping at Shravanabelagola to see the colossal Gomateshwara Jain statue (Doli can be hired locally if needed). Later visit Hoysaleshwara Temple at Halebid and Chennakesava Temple at Belur, known for intricate Hoysala architecture. Overnight stay in Hassan.
Day 21: Hassan – Bengaluru
Drive to Bengaluru and enjoy a city tour including Lalbagh Botanical Garden and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace. Free time in the evening. Overnight stay in Bengaluru.
Day 22: Departure Bengaluru
Transfer to Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, in time for your onward flight with memorable experiences of South India.
