3 Day Delhi Agra Ranthambore Tiger Safari Tour

Delhi Agra Ranthambore Tiger Safari Tour 2N/3D

Tour Overview

This short tour is designed for travellers who want to see the Taj Mahal and add a Ranthambore safari without booking a long Rajasthan circuit. The journey begins in Delhi and travels to Agra on the first day. After visiting the Taj Mahal and other selected sights, continue by road to Ranthambore for an overnight stay and a wildlife safari. On the third day, return to Delhi or continue towards Jaipur, subject to the agreed route and safari timing.

The itinerary is active because it combines long road transfers with sightseeing and an early wildlife experience. It works best for travellers who have limited time and prefer private hotel-to-hotel travel. If you prefer a slower holiday, add one extra night in Agra or Ranthambore.

Ranthambore is a natural tiger reserve. A tiger sighting is never guaranteed. The safari may include sightings of sambar deer, chital, nilgai, langurs, peafowl, crocodiles and other wildlife. The forest route and safari zone are controlled by the authorised authorities.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi to Agra sightseeing and transfer to Ranthambore

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel, airport or another agreed location in Delhi. The departure time depends on your hotel location, preferred Taj Mahal visit and the travel date. An early start gives you more time in Agra and keeps the onward journey practical.

Travel to Agra by private car. The road journey usually takes around three to four hours, depending on traffic, the starting point in Delhi and the number of stops. After arriving in Agra, meet your local guide if you have selected a guided sightseeing option.

Visit the Taj Mahal during the permitted visiting hours. The monument is closed to visitors on Fridays, so the itinerary should be checked before confirming the travel date. Keep your passport or accepted identity document available for monument entry if required.

After the Taj Mahal, you may visit Agra Fort if the available time allows. Agra Fort is a useful addition for travellers interested in Mughal architecture and the history of Agra. If you prefer a shorter sightseeing day, proceed directly towards Ranthambore after the Taj Mahal.

Continue by private car to Ranthambore. The journey takes several hours and may include a stop for lunch or refreshments. If the route and timing are suitable, Fatehpur Sikri can be added as an optional stop. This stop requires additional time and should be confirmed before departure.

Arrive near Sawai Madhopur and check in at your hotel or wildlife lodge. Rest in the evening and prepare for the next day’s safari. The exact safari reporting time changes with the season and will be confirmed with the permit.

Overnight: Ranthambore.

Meals: Breakfast if included in the selected hotel plan.

Wake up early for the morning safari if this shift is included in your confirmed permit. Safari departure time changes during the year because of sunrise and sunset. Carry the original identity document used for the booking.

The safari takes place in an authorised vehicle. A jeep is a smaller open 4×4 vehicle suitable for couples and small groups. A canter is a larger open shared vehicle and can be practical for larger groups or travellers seeking a lower-cost option. The final vehicle, zone and route depend on availability and the official allocation.

Follow the instructions of the driver and naturalist. Stay seated, keep your voice low and do not feed or disturb animals. You may see deer, birds, langurs, crocodiles and other species. A tiger may appear, but no responsible operator can promise a sighting, a particular zone or a specific animal.

Return to the hotel after the safari for breakfast and rest. The middle of the day is kept free because the road travel and safari can be tiring. You may relax at the property or add a local visit if time and access allow.

If Ranthambore Fort is open and there is enough daylight, you may visit it later in the day. Rajasthan Tourism states that the fort was built by the Chauhan rulers in the 10th century. The site includes historic structures and uneven paths, so comfortable footwear and water are recommended. The fort visit is optional and must not interfere with the confirmed safari schedule.

Spend the second night in Ranthambore. Travellers who want two safari drives should extend the tour by one additional day so that the second safari does not create a rushed departure.

Overnight: Ranthambore.

Meals: Breakfast if included in the hotel plan.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Your driver will begin the return journey according to the selected drop-off point.

You can return to Delhi by private car. Allow enough time for traffic and rest stops, especially if you have a flight or train on the same day. A late evening arrival is possible depending on the departure time and road conditions.

Instead of returning to Delhi, you can end the tour in Jaipur and continue your Rajasthan holiday. This option is useful for travellers planning a Golden Triangle route or a longer Rajasthan tour.

The tour ends at your hotel, airport or railway station in Delhi or Jaipur. The final drop-off point must be confirmed before the quotation is prepared.

Meals: Breakfast if included in the hotel plan.

Safari choices in Ranthambore

Jeep safari
A jeep is an open 4×4 safari vehicle used for smaller groups. It may be preferred by couples, families or photographers who want a smaller vehicle setting. A jeep does not guarantee a tiger sighting or a specific safari zone.

Canter safari
A canter is a larger open vehicle used for shared safari drives. It can be suitable for groups or travellers who prefer a more economical option. Seating, availability and allocation depend on the official booking system.

Safari permits should be arranged through the authorised forest booking system. The Rajasthan Forest Department provides online safari and permit information. Book early during busy travel periods, but treat a request as pending until the permit is confirmed.
