Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi Sightseeing – Drive to Agra

7:00–7:30 AM – Pickup from Delhi

Begin your Golden Triangle tour with pickup from your Delhi hotel or another agreed location. Meet your driver and review the sightseeing plan before setting off.

The itinerary assumes you are ready to start early. Airport or railway station pickup can be arranged, but a later arrival will reduce the time available for Delhi sightseeing.

Morning – Discover Selected Delhi Highlights

Start with a visit to Jama Masjid and a short walk through a suitable section of Old Delhi. If you would like a cycle-rickshaw ride, it can be requested separately and fitted into the available time.

Continue towards India Gate for an exterior photo stop where access permits. Afterwards, choose one main monument visit:

  • Humayun’s Tomb for Mughal architecture and gardens.
  • Qutub Minar complex for its minaret and surrounding archaeological remains.

Choosing one rather than attempting both keeps the morning more manageable before the drive to Agra. A selective combination of Old Delhi, India Gate and one major monument is recommended in the referenced Golden Triangle planning guide.

Around 12:30–1:30 PM – Lunch and Departure for Agra

Take a lunch break before beginning the journey to Agra. Travel by private air-conditioned car, with a refreshment stop if required.

For planning, allow approximately 3.5–5 hours, depending on the Delhi departure point, traffic and breaks. Published itineraries commonly allow around four hours, but arrival should remain flexible.

Late Afternoon or Evening – Agra Hotel Check-In

On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Keep the evening light so you are ready for the early Taj Mahal visit.

Your driver or guide will confirm the following morning’s pickup time.

Overnight: Agra
Meals: According to the confirmed hotel plan

Kick off with the majestic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site symbolizing Mughal opulence with its red sandstone walls and intricate palaces. Head to Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, then hop on a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk’s narrow lanes filled with spice aromas and haggling vendors. Afternoon brings Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s serene memorial; a drive past India Gate war memorial, Parliament House, and President’s Residence; plus Humayun’s Tomb’s symmetrical gardens and Qutub Minar’s towering victory tower—each blending Indo-Islamic artistry.

Around 8:00 AM – Begin Jaipur Sightseeing

After breakfast, check out or arrange luggage storage according
to your hotel’s policy. Meet your driver and guide, if included,
for the final day of your Golden Triangle tour.

Morning – Amber Fort

Begin at Amber Fort. Explore its courtyards and palace areas
at a comfortable walking pace, with time for photographs
and an explanation of its history.

Jal Mahal – Exterior Photo Stop

Continue towards the city with a short lakeside stop for
views of Jal Mahal. This itinerary includes an exterior
photo stop, not entry inside the palace.

Hawa Mahal – Exterior Photo Stop

Pause to admire Hawa Mahal’s distinctive façade before
continuing to your main city visit.

An interior visit can be requested, but it may require
reducing time elsewhere, especially if you are returning
to Delhi the same day.

Late Morning – City Palace or Jantar Mantar

Choose one main visit according to your interests and
departure plans:

  • City Palace for royal courtyards, galleries and heritage.
  • Jantar Mantar for historic astronomical instruments.

Both can be considered if you are finishing in Jaipur and
have sufficient time. For a Delhi return, choosing one
helps avoid an unnecessarily late departure.

Around 1:00–2:00 PM – Lunch and Departure

After lunch, begin your return journey to Delhi if included
in your package.

Allow approximately 5–6 hours or longer, depending on your
Delhi drop-off point, traffic and stops. A late-evening
arrival is possible, so avoid planning a tight same-evening
flight connection around the earliest estimated arrival.

Alternatively, finish at your Jaipur hotel, airport or
railway station. A Jaipur finish removes the final long
road transfer and allows more time for sightseeing.

Tour ends: Delhi or Jaipur, as confirmed in your booking.

FAQs

Q. Is three days enough to explore Delhi, Agra and Jaipur?

Three days can cover selected highlights, but the itinerary involves early starts, substantial road travel and limited time in each city. It suits travellers with a short schedule rather than those seeking leisurely sightseeing. Delhi Tourism also offers a three-day Golden Triangle circuit, demonstrating that the route is feasible as a compact trip.

The proposed package includes a private air-conditioned car, an experienced driver, transfers and sightseeing along the agreed route. Two nights’ accommodation, breakfast, local guides and monument tickets are included only when specified in your quotation. Check the complete inclusion list before confirming.

The suggested pickup time is around 7:00–7:30 AM on Day 1. An early start allows time for selected Delhi sightseeing before the drive to Agra. Share your pickup address or arrival details in advance, as a later start will reduce the number of visits possible.

The proposed morning plan includes Jama Masjid, a short Old Delhi walk and an India Gate exterior stop where access permits. You can then choose either Humayun’s Tomb or the Qutub Minar complex. This is a selective introduction to Delhi, not a full-day city tour.

The standard itinerary plans an early-morning Taj Mahal visit on Day 2. Your hotel pickup will be adjusted to the sunrise time on your travel date. The monument opens 30 minutes before sunrise on normal visiting days, although queues, security procedures and weather can affect the experience.

The Taj Mahal is closed to general visitors every Friday. If the scheduled visit falls on a Friday, your travel dates or sightseeing order must be changed. Confirm this before booking accommodation, especially if a sunrise visit is a priority.

The suggested itinerary includes one night in Agra and one night in Jaipur. Accommodation is provided only when included in your selected package. You can request a preferred hotel category or book your own rooms and choose a transport-and-sightseeing arrangement.

Monument tickets and licensed guide services are included only when clearly stated in the quotation. Confirm which attractions and guide services are covered, along with any separately ticketed areas. Guide language, availability and additional charges should also be agreed before booking.

The suggested Jaipur itinerary includes Amber Fort, exterior photo stops at Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal, and a choice of City Palace or Jantar Mantar. If you finish in Jaipur, there may be time for additional sightseeing. A Delhi return requires an earlier departure and fewer stops.

Fatehpur Sikri can be requested as an optional stop between Agra and Jaipur. However, it extends an already full day and may result in a later Jaipur arrival. Its inclusion should be agreed in advance rather than added at the expense of essential breaks.
